Strategic Plan

Early Years Wales is proud to share their updated strategic plan

Child playing a wooden ring on a row of blocks

This plan, launched in April 2023 will cover a three-year period lasting through to the end of 2026. The publication was delayed slightly by the Welsh Government's decision to re-name Early Childhood Education and Care to Early Childhood Play, Learning, and Care (ECPLC, formerly known as ECEC).

Our strategy builds on our foundation as a parent and childcare membership organisation. It remains true to the roots of an organisation that advocates for the highest quality early years experiences designed to ensure that every child has the foundation to play, learn and develop towards their full potential.

'In updating our strategy, we reflected on what we do well and where we can develop and improve our member offer and range of services. Our strategic plan recognises the importance of the people who provide the engaging experiences children need; the resources and knowledge sharing that helps create and promote high quality in early years; and the policies and practical support that enable the sector and parents to ensure that children's developmental needs are met appropriately. We look forward to demonstrating our performance against all the objectives shared in the document and continuing to provide an exceptional service for all our members.'
