Selca Day Nurseries has an opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to join our dedicated team to contribute to the growth and success of our nurturing setting. This is a permanent full time position, working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Selca Day Nurseries is a well-established group of day nurseries and out of school clubs caring for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 12 years of age. We are professional and rewarding with the aim to provide high quality childcare to families in our local community. We are looking for a dedicated leader to join our well established and popular day nursery.

The Nursery Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the nursery and will work alongside an experience team of childcare professionals. An ideal candidate will have prior managerial experience and be able to assist/lead the daily operations in our nursery. Must be qualified to a minimum of a Level 3 (and willing to undertake Level 4 qualification as part of their role). The successful candidate will be registered as the 'Person in Charge', so will need to be confident in dealing with CIW. You will be the most senior person on site day to day, with an established management team on site, and with a senior management team supporting you.

The role of Nursery Manager will include;

  • Leading the team in the day to day management of the nursery
  • Support, lead and motivate a team of Nursery practitioners and Team Leaders
  • Parent partnerships including managing complaints, new families and school leavers
  • Maintain employee files and records to ensure accurate company tracking of employees, ensuring that staff training is kept up to date
  • Driving excellent Early Years practice throughout the nursery
  • To cover on the nursery floor where needed providing the absolute highest standards of childcare to each and every child.
  • Working in partnership with other nurseries within the group
  • Reporting to Senior Management Team

In order to be considered for the roles of Nursery Manager at Selca Day Nurseries you will need:

  • A passionate and positive attitude
  • Strong understanding of the curriculum, National Minimum Standards and ability to train staff in this area
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • A positive attitude, good initiative, confident and approachable
  • Experience of using multiple ICT systems.
  • Willing to participate in further training and professional development
  • Hold a valid UK drivers license, access to your own vehicle and willing to add business insurance to ensure flexibility around the settings.
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Great organisation and efficiency skills.
  • Able to methodical and have an impeccable approach to office procedures, prioritisation and time management.
  • Great use of initiative, suggestions of improvement to processes, prioritisation and be proactive in managing their workload.
