Job description:
Duties:
- Supervise and engage children who have developmental delay in various play & learning opportunities
- Create a safe and inclusive environment for children to learn and have fun
- Plan and organize age-appropriate games, crafts, play opportunities and learning activities
- Assist with snack times and ensure children are following proper hygiene practices
- Support with any issues or conflicts that may arise, intervening as required.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a safe operation of the provision
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the play space, equipment and supplies
- Work within all procedures including safeguarding at all times - plan, assess and record as required all paperwork and evidence of progress
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in a similar role is preferable
- Safeguarding training is preferable
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate activities
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff members
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills to handle unexpected situations or emergencies
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in the well-being of children
- You will need an Enhanced DBS Check which we can do if not on the Update service
- First Aid certification is a plus but can be arranged
