Job description: 

Duties:

  • Supervise and engage children who have developmental delay in various play & learning opportunities
  • Create a safe and inclusive environment for children to learn and have fun
  • Plan and organize age-appropriate games, crafts, play opportunities and learning activities
  • Assist with snack times and ensure children are following proper hygiene practices
  • Support with any issues or conflicts that may arise, intervening as required.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a safe operation of the provision
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the play space, equipment and supplies
  • Work within all procedures including safeguarding at all times - plan, assess and record as required all paperwork and evidence of progress

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children in a similar role is preferable
  • Safeguarding training is preferable
  • Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate activities
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff members
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to handle unexpected situations or emergencies
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in the well-being of children
  •  You will need an Enhanced DBS Check which we can do if not on the Update service
  • First Aid certification is a plus but can be arranged
