Members voices, NMS proposed changes: have your say!

Welsh Government has opened a consultation into their proposed changes to the National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare for children up to 12 years of age(link is external) (NMS).

They are consulting on:

  • first aid requirements (Standard 10)
  • child minders working with assistants (Standard 13) (childminders)
  • childcare qualifications for day care providers (Standard 13) (daycare)
  • supernumerary member of staff (Standard 15)
  • quality (Standard 18)
  • safeguarding (Standard 20)

We recognise the importance of this consultation in shaping and refining the rules that you must abide by and want to support you in having your voices heard.

To do this, we would love to hear what difference you think the proposed changes will make to you and your setting. Do you think these are the right changes to make? What do you think are the possible positive implications and do you think there will be unintended consequences of these changes?

Come and discuss your thoughts with us, all contributions will be appreciated. We have dates in August and September. See our events page for more information:

If you cannot attend one of our events and you would still like to share your thoughts on the proposed changes, please feel free to email Maggie Kelly at [email protected] who will be collating our response on the consultation.
