Early Years Wales is a specialist umbrella organisation dedicated to the development of children aged 0 to 5 years supporting the provision of quality assured, structured creative-learning and play opportunities for children within Wales. Early Years Wales and Welsh Gymnastics have partnered to deliver the Welsh Active for Early Years programme to 0-5 year olds across Wales. The 4-week multi-skills movement and play based bilingual activity programme will be delivered directly to children and parents/carers at community-based venues and outdoor spaces in 12 communities.

The project is for children and adults to start enjoying playing actively enabling them to reap the benefits of a healthy lifestyle instead of seeing it as a challenge or a chore. Within the programme the importance of play is central to a child’s physical, mental, social and emotional health and well-being resulting in resilience, flexibility, contributing to physical and emotional well-being.

PACEY - the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years, will help to co-deliver the programme with  co-partners; Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids' Clubs, Mudiad Meithrin & NDNA Cymru assisting in the promotion of the Welsh Active for Early Years programme. We are looking forward to working with the children and their families/carers and embarking on new relationships. Over the course of the 3-year project Early Years Wales will be engaging with approximately 360 people. To keep up to date with the Welsh Active for Early Years programme:
