The attached flyer is for managers and owners of childcare settings in Wales. It provides you with important information on the move to a new digital service to deliver the Childcare Offer for Wales in 2022. This will mean that all childcare providers across Wales will use a single national service to claim payments for Childcare Offer hours delivered in any area of wales. Welsh Government anticipate the new service opening to parents in July 2022 for Autumn intake, which will mean childcare providers needing to create an account on the new service from around April 2022. Welsh Government will be in touch in due course with more information on this.
EDIT: On 20th December 2021, the decision to postpone the Childcare Offer for Wales digital project was announced. Providers will be contacted individually to set up their accounts during summer 2022 for an autumn rollout.
Childcare providers across Wales currently use a variety of systems operated by Local Authorities to receive payment for Childcare Offer hours provided, depending on the Local Authority area the child receiving those hours lives in.
Welsh Government are currently considering how they close down the systems currently operated by Local Authorities when the national digital service goes live and would like to hold some ‘virtual’ focus groups with childcare providers via Microsoft Teams to discuss the options available and to better understand what they would mean for childcare providers.
The dates for the focus groups are;
Tuesday 28th September 12.30pm-2pm
and
Thursday 30th September 6.30pm-8pm
