Childcare Start-Up Grant
Is being made available to encourage new childminders into the sector. The grant will offer some financial assistance to help with some of the costs associated with starting a childminding business.
New Employees Grant
Aims to encourage the creation of new jobs across the childcare sector. The grant will offer finances to support salaries and overheads whilst additional childcare spaces are filled.
To apply, applicants must:
- register with Business Wales
- be registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) at the point of Grant payment
- be able to demonstrate that the funding will help contribute to increasing the number of flexible childcare places

If you meet the criteria and wish to apply, please contact Business Wales on 03000 6 03000 to register. Application forms will be accepted from Monday 30 September 2019, when the fund goes live. The Business Wales Childcare Grants are open to applications until 31 March 2020 (Childcare Start-Up Grant) and 31st August 2020 (New Employees Grant), funds permitting.
