Venue:
This interactive online training is designed for early years practitioners seeking to enrich their storytime sessions by incorporating Welsh language development and celebrating the concept of Cynefin — a deep sense of place and belonging.
Participants will explore the power of bilingual storytelling to nurture children's language skills, cultural identity, and confidence in both Welsh and English.
Through engaging workshops, practical demonstrations, and collaborative discussions, attendees will learn how to:
- Select and adapt bilingual books and traditional Welsh stories.
- Integrate Welsh songs, rhymes, and phrases to enhance language exposure.
- Use storytelling to reflect the unique cultural heritage and experiences of their community.
- Foster inclusive, joyful storytime experiences that celebrate every child’s voice.
Whether you're fluent in Welsh or just beginning your bilingual journey, this training will equip you with the tools and inspiration to bring the magic of Welsh storytelling to life. Join us and discover how little voices can tell big stories, building a lifelong love of language and culture.
- Includes half hour for lunch.
