We are thrilled to announce that Early Years Wales is bringing you a series of Members Road Shows across Wales, designed to support professionals across the early years sector. Each Road Show will focus on Supporting Children with Additional Learning Needs.

Each Road show will have different speakers and topics and in addition to insightful sessions, we will have a variety of marketplace stands offering valuable information and support.

David Goodger, CEO of Early Years Wales.

Join Dave for an insightful session on Rethinking Early Childhood: Brains and Bonds, exploring the vital connections between early brain development and attachment. In this talk, Dave will delve into the fascinating world of how nurturing relationships and trauma-informed care significantly influence children's emotional and cognitive growth. Gain practical strategies to promote secure attachments within your settings, deepen your understanding of child behaviour, and enhance wellbeing and holistic development during these formative early years.

Gina Bale

Dynamic and accomplished educator with a rich background in movement and dance. Gina is the Director of the littleMagicTrain, which provides a world of play opportunities that are interactive adventures designed to create multi-sensory experiences. Gina recognises It is crucial to ensure that opportunities are inclusive and accessible for all children, including those with additional educational needs. Each adventure provides sensory integration, activities, particularly those involving rhythm and balance, helping children with sensory processing challenges regulate their responses to external stimuli. Gina will introduce one of her many adventures for us in this session.

Clare Law

Director of the Centre for Early Child Development leads the groundbreaking Better Start programme. Driving systems change and improving babies and children's outcomes. Blackpool was one of only five areas in England selected for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity by The National Lottery Community Fund. The Better Start programme was designed to improve outcomes for pregnant women, babies and children and their families with the goal of providing ground-breaking services antenatally and for babies and our youngest children, in communities where families faced the greatest challenges.

In this session, you will hear more about Blackpool's unique approach to building a robust and effective early years' system and how we are working collaboratively with partners and parents to develop a shared understanding and approach to supporting early child development. You will learn about our Early Years team, their work in developing effective partnerships with settings and families and the impact this joined up approach is having on outcomes for children.
