Child wearing dungarees reading book

To assist settings in being able to support families to connect and make positive changes, we have adapted the Public Health Wales Five Ways to Well-being messages.

These health and well-being cards have been designed to be used as an aid for discussion with early years professionals and parents about how they might incorporate the 'Five Ways to Well-being' into their everyday lives. Key workers and parents can be encouraged to think of their own ideas and share them with others. These cards could also be placed in a public area as part of a display.

We want to encourage individuals, communities and organisations to adopt the 'Five Ways to Well-being'. This will then contribute to more individuals looking after their own well-being by taking up these five ways in their daily lives:

  • Connect
  • Be Active
  • Give
  • Take Notice
  • Keep Learning

Why not use and share this movement calendar, packed with daily activities for your children, parents and team!

Being active and making small changes can make a big difference to a child's developing skills. Studies have shown that children who take part in high levels of physical activity from an early age, are more likely to continue taking part in physical activity in later years. Therefore, it is important to introduce activity at the earliest age in order to provide the best start.
