Lorena's Childminding
- Full Day Care
I am registered with Care Inspectorate Wales to care for boys and girls from birth to 12, but can also care for children over 12 outside of school hours. I care for up to 3 children under full time school age, no more than 6 under 8 years of age and no more than 7 children in total.
During school holidays I sometimes apply National Minimum Standard 15.9 (children aged 3-5 years who attend full-time education provision may be classed as over 5 years for the purposes of the ratios relevant to childminders). All of these ratios include my son.
My service is open to all families and children in the community, and I may be able to care for children with additional needs. I work in partnership with parents to meet the needs of their child.
I aim to provide children with a home away from home. Ultimately I want parents to have the peace of mind that their children are being cared for with all the tender care and respect that they would receive at home. I look after my son at the same time as other children, and like any parent I want the best for him, as well as for the children I care for. I am interested in maximising their opportunities for development and growth through:
- Educational activities based on the child’s age and development needs.
- Plenty of time for child-led play.
- Opportunities to be exposed to both Spanish and Welsh from a very young age, in a way that is natural and fun.
- Provide nutritious food, mostly cooked at home & tailored to the child if necessary.
- Opportunities to socialise with other children from the local area through play groups and other community activities (pending pandemic restrictions).
The operating hours of my service are flexible within the hours of 07:00 and 19:00. I can provide a service on weekends and evenings on an ad hoc basis.
