Job description: 

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team at our award setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and the ability to create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment.

As a Play Worker, you will support children's development through play, ensuring their wellbeing and fostering their social skills. This role is essential in providing high-quality childcare in a nurturing setting.

Duties

  • MUST HAVE OWN VEHICLE, business use insurance, MOT and tax.
  • Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring safety and enjoyment.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare.
  • Manage behaviour in a positive manner, using appropriate techniques to encourage cooperation and respect among children.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of play areas, ensuring resources are available and accessible.
  • Support children with special needs or additional requirements as necessary.
  • Foster an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and respected.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in childcare or working with children is highly desirable.
  • A background in Early Childhood Education or relevant qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Current DBS on update service, Paediatric First Aid and Food hygiene advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with children and parents.
  • Leadership qualities to guide activities and manage groups of children effectively.
  • Ability to drive may be beneficial for transporting children if required.
  • A genuine passion for nurturing children's development through play-based learning.
  • Knowledge of nursery practices and child development principles is preferred.
