Job description: 

Are you looking for a new job opportunity working with children aged three up to eleven years of age? We have an opening in our team for a new Playworker to join us for 10-13 hours a week in our Breakfast and Afterschool clubs at Kinnerton Little Acorns starting as soon as possible. We are located on the grounds of Ysgol Derwen and provide a vital service to many parents/carers. Hours will mainly be worked in our Breakfast club with some Afterschool club shifts too.


Responsibilities include;
• Developing, planning and organising play activities for children aged three to eleven years of age.
• Using play activities to help children to develop socially and emotionally.
• Setting up play equipment and making sure play areas are safe.
• Supervising children for fair behaviour during play, dealing with any minor injuries.
• Liaising with parents or carers.
• Preparing snacks for the children.

 

Training courses will need to be attended as required.

 

Ideal candidates will have or be working towards a Level 2 or 3 Playwork qualification and possess the following qualities: proven excellent team member, flexibility, have their own ideas, sensible decision-making abilities. We are happy to receive applications from candidates without Playwork qualifications provided you show a keen interest in working with children and young people.

Hours of work: 

School breakfast clubs run from 7.45am until 9.00am and after-school club runs from 3.00pm until 6.00pm. You would be required to cover both these shifts.

The role is a permanent position at 10-13 hours per week (with additional shift cover if required) paid at national minimum wage. The goal is to ensure all support activities are carried on efficiently and effectively to allow the other operations to function properly.
