Clwb Bwthyn Bach Wrap-Around Care are seeking a Playgroup Leader/Person In Charge for our lovely childcare facility.
Someone who is able to work together with other staff members and the voluntary management committee to further develop the service towards it's full potential. This is a special and unique position in a beautiful rural location serving two federated Primary schools, Caerwys and Lixwm. Clwb Bwthyn Bach has it's own building on the site of Ysgol yr Esgob in Caerwys with a fully enclosed outdoor space for lots of play.
Responsibilities:
- - Supervise and lead a group of children within the Nursery setting alongside the Playgroup Assistants.
- - Plan ahead and implement engaging activities / themes that promote learning and development.
- - Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all the children in your care at all times.
- - Manage daily routines as a team and ensure the well-being of all children with awareness of ALN an advantage.
- -To be familiar with and understand the National Minimum Standards (CIW) and the curriculum for non-maintained nursery settings.
- -To input childcare grant funding and complete mandatory childcare paperwork, SASS and Quality of Care Reviews when required etc.. Assistance will be given with this if/when required.
- -To keep accurate records regarding the facility, children's attendance and observations when needed.
Skills:
- -Level 3 Childcare Qualifications (and Playwork if possible or a willingness to undertake training immediately on start).
- -Driving licence (and own transport) as children will be required to be collected from Ysgol Lixwm each day. Fuel allowance paid for each pick up – 5 miles each day-3 children.
- - Experience in working with young children in a pre-school setting in a leadership position desirable.
- - Strong leadership and organisational abilities to effectively manage a group of children aged between 2.5 years and 12 years old.
- -To be able to delivery intimate care when required, on a rota basis, with other staff members for those children still potty training.
- - Excellent communication skills and diplomacy to interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- - Knowledge of childcare best practices and early childhood education principles is important, with ALN an advantage.
- -Ability to work as a team with staff and management is paramount. This is a small setting and working together is most important.
- -To continue an excellent working relationship with the linked schools also paramount.
- -Above all to have a desire to create exciting daily activities and have the children's well being at the centre of each session.
Pay - £13.50 p/h
NEST Pension Scheme
Fuel Allowance (for school pick up each morning at the standard rate).

Hours of work:
Working the hours of 11.15am until 6pm and to start as soon as possible after or on 3/3/25. (Possibly holiday shift in the summer term for a max of 10 days.)
