The Green Giraffe Day Nursery We are an Organic Day Nursery looking after 3 months to 5 years old children.

We cook fresh, nutritious, organic meals to our children and cater for their individual dietary needs

We are currently looking to recruit a Nursery Cook for the Green Giraffe Organic Day Nursery in Cardiff. The Cook is an essential part of the team. This is a full time position 40 hours per week between 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

The main duties will be:

• Preparing organic, healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 3 months to 5 years old.
• Breakfast, lunch, light tea, snack.
• Ensuring the kitchen remains compliant with the Health and Safety regulations and continuing to maintain our Level 5 food hygiene rating.
• A good knowledge of allergens and special dietary requirements is required.
• Follow menus taking into consideration the dietary requirements of the children and preparing appropriate meals in line with weekly menus
• Stock control and working to a budget
• Recording food temperatures accurately.
• Keeping paperwork up to date.
• General cleaning of the kitchen and equipment/appliances.

The successful candidate must hold a full, relevant and up to date qualification in food preparation and handling.

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £9.50-£10.00 per hour
