Job description: 

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the roles and responsibilities of working in an early years setting 
  • Attend training courses as necessary to support career development
  • Treat all children with care and respect, and carry out personal care by changing nappies or supporting potty training routines
  • Communicate excellently to engage with children, staff members and parents 
  • Use creative skills and imagination to support the planning process and deliver educational activities that ensure children are happy and learning in a rewarding environment
  • Maintain a positive outlook to keep children happy and build an environment where they feel secure and rewarded. Promote belonging and wellbeing, and support children to become confident and independent learners.
  • Be a good role model and always show respect and kindness to children and colleagues
  • Monitor the condition of the facility and equipment, complete daily checklists and risk assessments, and support management to ensure the smooth running of the sessions by becoming familiar with the daily routine
  • Promote diversity and inclusion
  • Have a clear understanding of your safeguarding responsibilities and attend all necessary training to support this. Be familiar with all Wales safeguarding procedures.
