Job description: 

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the out-of-school care program.
  • Providing a safe and stimulating environment to promote learning.
  • Updating parents and carers on children's progress.
  • Recruiting staff and developing the nursery team.
  • Keeping accurate records.
  • Managing a budget.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and child protection regulations.
  • Supervising staff and handling administrative tasks.
  • Maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with parents and carers - good communication is key!
  • Ensuring health and safety measures are constantly maintained by completing risk assessments, reporting risks, and recording accidents and incidents.
  • Running holiday club programs during school holidays and ensuring holiday clubs run at full capacity.
  • Supporting the main nursery location during drop-off times when needed.
  • Growing the client base, maximising occupancy numbers and growing a waiting list.

 Must have:

  • Full-time availability: able to work 40 hours per week between 7:30 am - 6:00 pm on weekdays.
  • Full clean driver's licence and reliable transportation.
  • Confidence in driving our nursery vehicles (small mini vans) is compulsory.
  • At least 2 years experience working with children.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Superb communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding.
  • Understanding of the importance of following and abiding by policies and procedures.
  • Confidence to work as the Person In Charge for the setting.
  • Understanding the importance of confidentiality.
  • Childcare Level 3. Paediatric First Aid.

*Due to vehicle insurance stipulations, the successful candidate must be at least 25 years of age in order to drive nursery vehicles and meet the requirements of the role.

Preferred:

  • Playwork Level 3.
  • Previous Management Experience.
  • Child protection.
  • Food hygiene.
  • Experience of leading a CIW inspection with high level results.
