We are looking for a motivated Assistant Manager to assist in overseeing the daily operations of our nursery in Bargoed. An ideal candidate will have prior managerial experience, and it is essential that applicants hold a level 5 (or equivalent) qualification in CHILDCARE (Health and Social Care, or Teaching Assistant Qualifications not sufficient).

The successful applicant will also be required to have at least two years of experience working in a regulated childcare setting. This is an exciting opportunity for an outgoing and responsible individual who is ready to develop management skills and become a leader in our company.

The successful applicant will be registered as ‘person in charge’ when the nursery manager is absent, so will need to be confident dealing with CIW should they need to.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain employee files and records to ensure accurate company tracking of employees, ensuring that staff training is kept up to date.
• Assist the manager in training new staff in the duties of their job. To work alongside the manager to provide administrative support.
• To cover as ‘person in charge’ when the nursery manager isn’t at the setting, leading a team of nursery nurses.
• To cover on the nursery floor where needed providing the absolute highest standards of childcare to each and every child.
