The QA coordinator will be in touch to offer a ‘Check in’ session via an online video platform. The sessions are intended to provide an opportunity for you to ask any questions regarding the Tool and Assessment.
The Tool provides a series of questions based on key operating areas for childcare settings. They are largely based on the NMS and require a Yes or No answer. We have listed the most relevant NMS outcomes for each section to help you to cross reference the quality of your service. *You may also wish to refer to other NMS outcomes not listed. In answering the yes/no questions, we expect that you will think about how you and your service meet and exceed requirements in the areas that are relevant to you.
Ideas for your further reflection are provided and are intended to help you evaluate your practice and gain a deeper understanding of how well your service is delivered. These reflections may also highlight areas for future development and improvements.
Examples of evidence that will support your answers and further reflections are provided and we ask that any evidence submitted is limited to be relevant and succinct. Making notes will help you to focus and will provide a basis for a professional discussion with your assessor.
A contents page will allow you to start reflecting anywhere in the Tool. Therefore, if you are aware that you need to improve the children’s health and wellbeing for example, you can go straight to that section.
Each time you move on to the next or previous page your work will save, there is also a SAVE button you can press at any time throughout the process. It is important that you do this at regular intervals as information does not save automatically.
You can only submit the QfA Assessment Tool when every section has been completed, after pressing the SUBMIT button you will be alerted if any areas are incomplete. An automated email will be sent to confirm your QfA submission.
The QA Coordinator will allocate an assessor to your setting and the assessor will review your submitted Tool and evidence and contact you to arrange a convenient date and time to carry out an external assessment.
