Active Baby and You is a 3 hour training session aimed at early years practitioners working with children in the first 1000 days, supporting the development of physical literacy and young children’s wellbeing.
The Active Baby and You training programme will help provide you with opportunities to develop a multi skills approach, to embedding this into every day life. Meeting the physical needs of babies and toddlers in the early years is critical if we are to make changes in the next generation. This training will focus on physical literacy in the first 1000 days and the importance of movement and physical activity during these very early years.
Learning outcomes:
- Consider the importance of physical activity in the first 1,000 days
- Reflect on the physical literacy learning journey for under 3's
- Prepare to support the development of movement through play and physical activity
- Plan to introduce a range of physical activities for children using the Active Baby and You resource pack
Active Baby and You is funded by the Healthy and Active Fund - a partnership between Welsh Government, Public Health Wales and Sport Wales. As part of the training, you will receive a Active Baby and You resource pack which includes a range of physical activity ideas for children in the first 1000 days.
